Thomas the Tank Engine pulling into Oklahoma City

Put away the plastic toy trains and take the kids for a ride they'll never forget. Children's books and TV star Thomas the Tank Engine makes a stop at Oklahoma Railway Museum this weekend, bringing fun for the whole family.

"Day Out with Thomas 2007: All Aboard Tour" will visit 45 cities in the Unites States and Canada, and will welcome more than 1 million passengers through December.

The tour stops in Oklahoma City Friday through Sunday and again Oct. 5-7 at Oklahoma Railway Museum, 3400 N.E. Grand.

ACTIVITIES
"Day Out with Thomas" is the only place for families to take a ride on the 15-ton replica of Thomas, the locomotive star of the show.

Not only will families enjoy a 25-minute train ride, but they also will get the opportunity to meet and take a photo with Sir Topham Hatt, manager of the show's imaginary Sodor Railway. Thomas and friends' Imagination Station offers Thomas-themed activities, including:
" storytelling,
" live music,
" arts and crafts, and
" a puppet show.

The tank engine will depart every 50 minutes, rain or shine, between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. Tickets for the tour are $16 for ages 2 and up.
