Gun advocate’s argument full of holes

Are mustard gas and hydrogen gas the same because they’re both gases? Are coal and a diamond the same because they’re both made of carbon? For that matter, you could say a gun is the same as a flower because they’re both made of atoms.

The whole can be greater than the sum of its parts. So thank you for the lesson on how a bullet fires, Mr. Goss, but giving a lunatic the power to kill a dozen people in 10 seconds is quite different than giving him a musket with one bullet.

And with the now-ubiquitous gun advocate mantra of let’s “address the real issue of deranged individuals,” I expect the right wing to fully support universal, single-payer health care in the U.S. and get such individuals the psychological care they need!

Mr. Goss’s letter is factually ignorant as well. A quick Google search shows statistics from the United Nations prove gun restriction/elimination laws prevent homicides and accidental deaths in every industrialized nation in the world.
