The theater has sat vacant for several years and has been viewed as a central piece to the redevelopment of the Uptown 23rd district, which has seen an increase of businesses and restaurants over the past few years.

· Opened in July 1937
· Holds the distinction of hosting the longest running movie in Oklahoma history with an 82-week run of “The Sound of Music” in 1965
