Not exactly, but pretty close. Former Oklahoma State wide receiver Dez Bryant reportedly shelled out $54,896 on Sept. 27 at Pappas Bros. Steakhouse in the Metroplex. Why was the tab so hefty?
After being ruled ineligible at OSU, Bryant was picked by Dallas in the 2010 NFL Draft. Then the rookie made more headlines by refusing to carry the shoulder pads of veteran receiver Roy Williams, a former Texas Longhorn.
When Bryant treated the Dallas offensive players at the steakhouse, Williams invited defensive players as well, according to ESPN.com. Teammates basically ordered everything on the menu and brought home some bottles of vino.
David Wells, Bryant's adviser, told The Associated Press that players had "goooood meals" with plenty of lobster to go around.
"They got the young fella," Wells told ESPN.com. "What could he say? He had to pay it unless he wanted to wash dishes for a month."
The former Poke, who is guaranteed $8.3 million in his Dallas contract, can afford it.
"Dez knew what he had to do and he took responsibility for it," Wells told AP after seeing the damage on the bill. "He made the best of it, nothing negative. He had a good time with the guys, bonding with his teammates."
Williams told ESPNDallas.com that the dinner wasn't all his fault.
"I mean, it's the same offensive dinner that we've been doing, that every team does in the NFL," said Williams, adding that he had not eaten in two days. "I'm good."
