Re: “Gazedibles: Tasty bird

I'm going to toss in the mesquite grilled chicken at El Primo Loco since that one was overlooked.

Re: “As the opioid epidemic continues, Oklahomans require better support systems

Sept 2018
You might look into how legitimate chronic pain patients have been treated in the past few months. The Oklahoma DEA has been threatening pain specialists who don't lower opioid dosages. In essence thousands of legitimate chronic pain patients are left looking for relief. I for one have had my dosages lowered to the point that I live in agony 24/7. I've been on the same dosage for 15 years with not one problem with doctor or drug. It's gone too far. We need an advocate in the worst way

Re: “Pet Gazette: Home to roost

This is the same Laurie Anderson who had a lot of pets die or disappear under mysterious circumstances. I wouldn't entrust her to take care of a simulated pet on a computer screen. PETA needs to take a look at her "rescue" organization and see just how those animals are being cared for.

Re: “Hashed out

Its about time .. Thank you chief for showing support to the people and their votes. Its always been ridiculous as I see it to put anyone in jail for possession of marijuana. Youre ruining peoples lives and making criminals out of criminals who should never have been labeled a criminal when you lock a low level drug addict up in a prison with hard core murderers and violent men and women. Its time we get more leaders and law officials like this

Great article, Joshua! Thank you for helping us share the heart of Hotdogs for the Homeless with others. I invite those who are looking for ways to serve, especially as a family, to consider helping us some Sunday. Check the website for more info.

Please note one error made by auto-correct when info was being sent to the Gazette. The name of Rick Swydens late friend & business partner who helped him for years with Hotdogs for the Homeless was Mike Velte. Please accept my apologies.

Re: “Cover: No smoke

I was diagnosed with COPD , four years ago now. I moved to USA two years ago in the hope my health would improve
and my doctor has given me Seebri Breezhaler, it's an inhalation powder 44 micrograms. I take it once a day in the morning, but it was unable to help me breath properly. Earlier this year my sister who lives in New Delhi India Purchased COPD herbal remedy from BEST HEALTH HERBAL CENTRE and they told her that their COPD herbal remedy only takes six weeks to reverse COPD completely, which she didnt believe, but she had no choice than to purchase, because she knew breathing was so difficult for me. When I received the herbal remedy, I only used it for six weeks, it was so shocking to see the outcome, I was able to breath normal, no more shortness of breath, no more dry cough, chest pressure stop and my COPD was fully reversed.
I know is hard to believe but am a living testimony, There is no harm in trying natural herbs supplements.

Re: “Bar work

Man, Gazette!!

I really wish you would've checked a few sources before you printed this.
The last paragraph is completely fabricated, and Mr. Pickering has never been paid for his services. Actually, there are multiple people who came together to help Lee Morris with his sudden and rushed purchase that have never been compensated for their hard work.
Mister Morris never "sold his shares" to any restaurant in Oklahoma City. Ever.
I really wish you would have done a bit of fact checking before you decided to waste your talent and ink to print.

Re: “COVER: Great destinations

I have great appreciation for how the history of OKC is honored in this publication, the best newspaper OKC has truly ever had, and I mean that as someone who later became a newspaper career person and am also married to one. I am the granddaughter of J. B. Klein and it is really something to see him mentioned in 2018, more than 90 years after his death. Quite a lot of the foundry's iron work remains, such as the gates and sconces at the old Central School on Robinson that my father and later I attended. OKC was built at a time when beautiful buildings in the U.S. were expected and erected. I love that the old neighborhoods are getting renewed attention.

Re: “Cover: Oklahomans are both fascinated and fearful about the rise of cryptocurrencies such as bitcoin

XRP solves EVERY single problem that is in bitcoin. It's also very very affordable right now and has actual use cases coming out it's ears. Bitcoin is just a store of value, but XRP is used to solve cross-border payments. Check it out folks. THIS is the future of money.

Re: “Cover: No smoke

As a registered nurse who has never used marijuana or smoked any substance, I have observed the horrific effects of cancer and the attempts to prolong the lives of its victims.. As such, I am distressed at the disappointment of cancer patients who had hoped for some relief of the nightmare of their disease and its treatment from legalized medical marijuana.
The recriminalization of smokable marijuana and the attempt to control amounts of the effective property of the smokable product, THC, is a power grab of potentially fatal proportions.
The actions of established health centers and self appointed authorities of unknown credentials out to protect their patient load and resultant profit by altering the law and requiring pharmacists at the sale of a plant will accomplish nothin more than the maintenance of exorbitant medical costs.
Of course, most of the changes are an outright attack on the will of the people and an attempt to circumvent a law that enjoyed overwhelming approval by Oklahomans.
The most egregious of proposed changes is the recriminalization of smokable marijuana and limits on its THC level. For most patients, only marijuana of higher THC content is effective in treating the acute nausea and pain that accompanies many malignancies and the therapies used to prolong the life of acute cancer patients. And oral administration is essentially impossible due to persistent vomiting.
To excuse the prohibition of smokable marijuana on the basis of "protecting the public from the hazards of smoking" could be the most tragic and fatal joke of all for patients dying from cancer. The smoking excuse is especially infuriating for patients who have never smoked cigarettes that are legally unchallenged and easily available yet are known to contain hundreds of harmful and addictive substances. Cigarettes are the real gateway drug.
The Individuals who approved this ridiculous attempt to reverse the will of the people and endanger cancer patient lives should be immediately dismissed from the board and the law unchanged as approved by the people should be immediately put into effect before even one life can be lost to a power play making us the laughing stock of the country..
