Something to sneeze about

Oklahoma City is numero uno among Most Congested Cities in the U.S., according to Breathe Right Nasal Strips and Sperling’s BestPlaces.

OKC also made national news with a Top 5 Allergy Capital designation last week by the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America. The metro area rankings, which calculate pesky pollen spores, copious amounts of allergy medications used and the sheer number of specialists per patient, put OKC numero cinco behind Knoxville, Tenn., Dayton, Ohio, McAllen, Texas, and Jackson, Miss.

According to accuweather.com, Oklahoma City’s ragweed pollen levels obviously remain very high. (And we’re not talking about the Cross Canadian kind.) If you need more information, common ragweed stems are described by the Oklahoma Cooperative Extension Service as “rough, hairy, erect” and at least one foot in length (!). TMI? Don’t say we didn’t warn you!
