Norman police identify three shooting victims

Norman Police Capt. Leonard Judy confirmed the identities of three women shot and killed at a Norman residence Tuesday as:

" Tami Link, 52;

" Sheila Ellis, 56; and

" Letannah Bishop, 87.

The three women were shot at an east Norman residence -- 1517 Oklahoma Ave. -- owned by Link and her husband, 54-year-old Brent Link. Ellis, Tami Link's sister, and Bishop, Brent Link's mother, were at least temporarily residing in the home at the time of the shooting, Judy said.

Police say they recovered a 12-gauge shotgun at the scene Tuesday and believe it is the murder weapon.

Brent Link is a Vietnam veteran who served in special operations for the Marine Corps and later transferred to the Navy when his eyesight deteriorated.

"We have dismissed the likelihood (Brent Link) was involved in the shooting," Judy said.

Judy said a 50-year-old male Norman resident who did not reside at the Link's home is a person of interest. The man, whose identity has not been released, is currently hospitalized.

Judy could not confirm if the hospitalized man is related to Brent Link. A police department statement said the man sustained injuries during an altercation with Brent Link. -Stefanie Brickman
