You may recall our mourning of The Midwest City Sun in this very section a few weeks ago. After launching in 1980, the community newspaper was shut down abruptly by its corporation, and printed its final edition on Oct. 28, leaving behind an informational hole for its loyal readers.
Well, we're about to fill that hole. Early next year, Tierra Media Group " the parent company of Oklahoma Gazette and OKCBiz " will debut EastWord, a free weekly paper dedicated to the Mid-Del and Choctaw communities, with local coverage of the area's schools, cities, sports, commerce and quality of life.
The first issue of EastWord will hit the streets the first week in March 2010; its Web site will launch a month earlier.
