"Over the years, and probably from my influence of being a photographer, I have fallen in love with lost images. My definition of lost images would be defined by those images that you find in shoe boxes from years ago at local thrift stores, flea markets, estate sells and antique stores," said Eric Lyons, artist and educator at Deer Creek High School. "Ultimately, my attraction to them was that at one point, they all had a story; however, the stories, like the images, were lost over time. In my mixed media work, I try to retell their stories through their titles. Of course, I know nothing that is happening in the images, so a lot comes from the influence in my own life. My current works have focused a lot on isolation of individuals through things like self-care, search for a higher power and contentment."
