Joe ran as an Independent for President in 2016 and his decision to seek the Libertarian gubernatorial nomination was pure opportunism upon which he was unable to capitalize because Libertarian voters rejected him, placing Joe last, well behind both of the other candidates in the primary. It is also the case that the OKLP has explicitly rejected him as not being a Libertarian.
