Adelante! Gallery presents annual \"Virgen de Guadalupe and Other Sacred Images Exhibit\"

Get in touch with your spiritual side for the final days of the fifth annual "Virgen de Guadalupe and Other Sacred Images Exhibit" Wednesday through Saturday at Adelante! Gallery, 3003 Paseo.

The exhibit includes more than 50 pieces of spiritual artwork created by Cynthia Daniel Wolfe, Jo Vanden and 10 other Oklahoma artists.

"We all have certain images that speak to us, so as artists, we are able to create images from a deeper part of ourselves, of our essence and spirit," said Wolf, gallery co-owner.

MEDIA
From landscapes of missions in the mountains to portraits of the Virgen de Guadalupe and Buddha, the exhibit captures the calming presence of various figures through:
" mixed media on tile and silk,
" paintings,
" sculpture,
" pottery,
" fiber,
" jewelry and
" photography.

"Every year, it has been such a success," Wolf said. "The quality of work is always good, and it's really nice to see such a variety of techniques and styles."

ARTISTS
Other artists with work in the exhibit are:
" Harvey Pratt,
" Nancy Russell,
" Gayle L. Curry,

According to a press release, the legend of the Virgen de Guadalupe is "centuries old, but her endless promise of peace, love and compassion continues to inspire."
