All aboard!

Choo-choo! Santa’s ditched his sleigh in favor of new, more stylish ride: a train.

Santa Claus will stop in on Saturday at the Oklahoma Railway Museum, 3400 N.E. Grand Blvd., to hear children’s Christmas wish lists. Santa will welcome passengers on his train who want to meet the jelly-bellied man and hear about his wild holiday adventures.

“Santa’s going to be on the train, there’s going to be hot chocolate, singing Christmas carols on the train and reading ‘The Polar Express,’” said Anne Murray, museum administrative assistant.

The train will be decked out in decorations, and the museum grounds will be turned into a winter wonderland.

The museum chose to read “The Polar Express” because “it is a Christmas story that occurs on a train,” Murray said.

Children of all ages who don’t want the fun to end after the train ride can explore the rest of the site. They can look at the model train, which fills an entire baggage car, or check out the display car.

The Christmas train is set to go dashing through the snow at 10:30 a.m., noon, 1:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. Saturday, and the museum is open from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 and already on sale.
