Made for television, the 1981 film finally made its home-video debut no Betamax, no VHS last month from Sony Pictures via burned-on-demand DVDs. Its based on an actual women-only OKC football team of the late 1970s, but the similarities ended there.
Some of the female footballers are played by Susan Blakely (The Towering Inferno) and Ronee Blakley (an Oscar nominee for Nashville); Green Acres patriarch Albert played the coach.
Still wetting the bed in 1981, CFN hasnt seen The Oklahoma City Dolls, yet
is considering unloading $20.95 just for kicks. Plus, the directors
name is fun to say: E.W. Swackhamer. Seriously, try it: E.W. Swackhamer.
LOL! Swackhamer!
