CHOW CHAT
Culinary Miracles owner Holly Geller is a multitasker who never seems to slow down. Her distinguishing features include holly Geller red hair, a thick Boston accent and an infectious, “can do” attitude.

Morning
or night person: “Both.” Position: “A chef, consultant, caterer,
culinary instructor, product demonstrator at department stores, and work
at the Williams-Sonoma call center in customer service.”

Die and come back as: “Julia Child.

Through
the International Association of Culinary Professionals, I assisted her
each year in demonstrations, and she would always remember me from year
to year. She was so gracious.”

Look-alike: “No one has ever told me I look like someone.”

Food you’d never eat: “Organ meats — no hearts, no kidney, no gizzards. If I can’t recognize it on my plate, I won’t eat it.”

Of all the extensive culinary luminaries you’ve met, you’d like to cook with: “Marcella Hazan.”

Came to OKC: “From Boston in 1977.”

Hilarious
happening: “The other day at a catering job, a guest asked for a
Perrier, and I turned to one of the girls and told her it was fizzy in a
green bottle. She came back with broccoli because it was green and she
didn’t understand what I said. Blame that on the Boston accent!”

BYTES

month at S&B’s you can get any full size specialty burger for $5
(it’s their 2yr anniversary.) They also have Fatty Friday ($4 full size
fatty burgers) and Mondays are normally $5 full size burgers, too. They
also have other deals during the week.” —Erica Cranford

“Chopped
Brisket and Sausage Special at Swadley’s Bar-B-Q. Half pound of meat,
two of their delicious sides, toast and a drink for $10.89. Killer
deal.” —Curt Breuklander

“Well there is the obvious $3 burger night at McNellies” —Amy Robinson

“Half-price rolls and cheap cocktails at Pachinko Parlor!” —Christine Eddington

“Blue plate specials at Bricktown Brewery and at Bricktown Brewery at Remington Park!” —Chuck Shepherd
