Blade battle in Baja Oklahoma!

The State Fair of Texas doesn’t start for pert near two months, but the OU-Texas buildup is already reaching a fever pitch. Did another Texas fan nearly castrate another male member of the Sooner Nation in the 405, resulting in stitched cajones? Well, not that kind of sad sack story at Henry Hudson’s Pub, but how about a good old-fashioned knife fight in Baja Oklahoma?

This brouhaha between Longhorn and Sooner admirers escalated with a drawn blade inside a San Antonio Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill & Bar on Aug. 1, sending two grown fellers to the hospital, according to (That’s right, sports fans! Applebee’s. The report didn’t specify if anyone ordered the Knife & Fork Chicken Cordon Bleu Sandwich.)

Police were dispatched just before midnight after an argument boiled over on the front steps of the family restaurant, according to the report.

“The suspect chased the victim into the foyer of the establishment (and) the two began to get into a fight,” San Antonio Police Department Officer Matt Porter told the station.

An OU fan allegedly pulled a knife and attacked a Texas fan. During the struggle, both were stabbed. The two were listed in stable condition at University Hospital, according to Hopefully, they’ll heal in time for the 11 a.m. kickoff Oct. 8 at the Cotton Bowl.

“These individuals might have been passionate about their teams, which led to a heated argument,” Porter reportedly said. “Sometimes, it’s better to just walk away.”

Texas fans were displaying their classy hospitality for the OU aficionado via comments on the website: “I hope that the Oklahoma Sooner fan was deported back to Oklahoma!!!!” wrote seville_1976.
