Chicken-Fried News: Oklahoma’s favorite color

CFN_YUKON.jpg

According to a study recently published by livability.com, Yukon made the top ten list of Best Cities for Conservatives. Consider us shocked. Well, color us shocked.

Residents of the formerly agricultural town are becoming more urbanized in recent years, but they still put a premium price on family values and going to church on Sundays. Most of Yukon is in the Third Congressional district, with Frank Lucas at its helm. He is a vocal supporter of gun rights and is against that darn Environmental Protection Agency meddling in his district’s business.

Although Yukon was not No. 1 — it was No. 6 — it does share the top ten with the hotbed of culture, Odessa, Texas, and No. 1, Alabaster, Alabama, which has not had a Democratic presidential candidate win since 1968.
