Youngsters can enjoy a variety of activities, including two different scavenger hunts available in the Hall of the People of Oklahoma and the Hall of Ancient Life. The hands-on aspect of the scavenger hunts is a great learning tool, said Linda Coldwell, public relations and marketing officer.

“The scavenger hunts are a fun way for kids and parents to experience the galleries together,” she said. “The interactivity gets them actually looking and paying attention to what’s going on in the exhibit.”

Also sure to spark any child’s interest is the Discovery Room, which features a dinosaur dig, live reptiles and many other hands-on activities.

The museum is open daily. For more information, call 325-4712 or visit snomnh.ou.edu. —Courtney Silva
