Electro-rockers Peachcake promise dynamic live show

Care for a slice of synthesizer sounds sprinkled with electronic beats that crumbles with sweet garage-punk vocals? Grab a fork and help yourself to a slice of Peachcake, a buzzed-about band that cooks quirky songs with a colorful stage show.

The Arizona-based "band," according to Stefan Pruett, one of Peachcake's founding members, started in 2004 as a duo with himself and co-vocalist John O'Keefe, but quickly blossomed into a collective effort both in the studio and live on stage. Peachcake will play Monday at Convergence.

"We've taken a huge path, changing and metamorphosing," Pruett said. "Of course, every band says that, but we really have become a forum for every kind of sound."

While not for everybody, Peachcake's offbeat, collective nature and mash-up of sounds always manages to be a live spectacle, Pruett said.

"People either love or hate Peachcake, due to the convictions musically and the people personally," he said. "We're very driven and want to make people feel good about themselves " a forum for positive energy that will at least provoke some reaction." "Joe Wertz
