Hard-rock duo Jucifer tours in RV

It's been more than four years since Amber Valentine and Edgar Livengood's Georgia rent house was sold while they toured and they made the decision literally to live a life on the road. Together, Valentine and Livengood are Jucifer " a frenetic, genre-warping rock band that has been a national touring mainstay for more than a decade.

Their dedication to music and live performance proves that home is where the Winnebago is.

"We have been touring in (the Winnebago) for six years now," Valentine said on the phone while driving through "the middle of" Kansas. "We already had to put a new motor in it, but we finally have it the way they want it."

STATE VISIT
When the pair cruises through Oklahoma, they try to schedule a few days of R&R at one of their favorite spots: The Catfish Round-up RV Park near Seminole. Valentine said it's become a ritual.

"God, there are probably 200 of these places in Oklahoma "¦ you know, truck stop, café, restaurants," she said, laughing. "But this one has an RV park, so we try to schedule a day off."

She said little things like hot food and a shower equal big excitement for a band that lives in an RV all the time.

Though the Jucifer sound is hard for fans, critics and even the band itself to describe, Valentine said one word is repeated from those who catch a show and best describes the feeling the pair has at the end of a show: "release." "Joe Wertz
