Principal Sherry Rowan will discuss the school's philosophy and faculty members will be introduced in the auditorium during the event. A tour of the facility will follow, when visitors can talk with teachers in their classrooms.

COURSES

A college preparatory charter high school sponsored by the Oklahoma City Public Schools board, the center emphasizes:

" dance,

" music,

" drama, and

" visual and technical arts, combined with core-subject curriculum.

Course offerings range from German and instrumental music to video production and journalism.

"I believe in helping students make connections between different subject areas, develop problem-solving skills, become good readers and writers, and learn to express themselves in a variety of ways," Rowan wrote in a letter to parents on the school's Web site. "I feel a school's job is to assist parents in preparing our students to lead productive, responsible, stable and enjoyable lives."

Students entering high school grades who are Oklahoma County residents are eligible for admission, according to the site. For more information, call 702-4322 or visit their site.
