Chances are, if you have to consult a book like this, your IQ isn't going anywhere. But "How to Be a Genius" gives it the college try, dishing out advice on building your brain. Said tips include such earth-shatterers as "Dress the part" and "Join the arts."

 

This self-described "Handbook for the Aspiring Smarty-Pants" does better in enlightening with little "did you know?" items about history's verifiable brainiacs, like philosopher Ludwig Wittgenstein's school photo with Adolf Hitler, or physicist Stephen Hawking's bet with a colleague where a subscription to Penthouse served as the stakes.
