Judge rules County Commissioner will face trial

A judge has ruled that Oklahoma County Commissioner Brent Rinehart will face trial on felony charges of campaign finance violations, according to the Associated Press.

Oklahoma County Judge James Paddleford said there is sufficient evidence that Rinehart, along with his campaign manager, Tim Pope, will face trial along with a donor who allegedly exceeded legal limits of campaign donations by using a political action committee, the story states.

Rinehart's tenure on the Commission has been marked by turbulence and controversy, from his outspoken stance against gays to the dissolution of a panel providing oversight to county finances.

So, is the end for Rinehart? Why did he get elected in the first place? -Ben Fenwick
