Many of Kesha Rose Sebert’s private and professional hardships became incredibly public in the past few years. 2017’s Rainbow is full of gospel-inflected catharsis: “Praying,” “Hymn,” “Learn to Let Go,” but also the Eagles of Death Metal-rocking “Boogie Feet,” the Dap-Kings-funky-fanfare-boasting “Woman” and a song about taking “Godzilla” to the mall. “Don’t let the bastards get you down,” indeed.
