Tuesdays just got more creative and quite a bit smaller.

The Oklahoma City Museum of Art, 415 Couch, presents "Tiny Tuesdays" the third Tuesday of every month.
The program is designed for kids 2-5 years old. Parents accompany their children during the activities, as guest artist Erin Oldfield shares art fundamentals. It was Oldfield's brainchild, as she primarily teaches art classes for preschoolers and toddlers, said Chandra Boyd, curator of education.

"The idea was to offer something during the weekday that families with young children could come spend time at the museum, and really expose them to the arts at a young age," Boyd said.

Unlike its slightly older participants, "Tiny Tuesdays" is in its infancy. The first installment was held in September. For October's program, kids can look forward to learning about warm color combinations through tempera painting and glitter. Parents are urged to participate with their children, which can call for a wardrobe appropriate for the inevitable messes.

"Art should never be restricted, and we really want the kids to get that experience," Boyd said. "So we stress: Dress for mess."

The program is 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday, free with paid museum admission. Nonmember admission is $12 for adults; $10 for seniors and students; and free for children under 5. For more information, call 236-3100 or visit www.okcmoa.com. "Ta'Chelle Jones
