Strap on those stilettos, ladies (and gents). The sixth annual Heels for Hope event — a 5k race, one-mile walk and 25-yard high heel and feather boa dash promoting ovarian cancer awareness — kicks off at 9 a.m. Saturday inside Wheeler Park, 1120 S. Western Ave. All proceeds benefit the Heels for Hope Foundation, supporting local research and education efforts. Registration is required, with a fee of $25. Visit heelsforhope.org. —Gazette Staff
