Minerva Louise on Christmas Eve - Janet Morgan Stoeke

Dutton

In this slim hardback aimed at the preschool set, an oblivious hen named Minerva Louise learns what Christmas is all about as she happens upon Santa Claus in the midst of his annual rounds. Following him down the chimney, she witnesses the jolly elf stuffing stockings and gorging on cookies.

Utterly clueless, Minerva's amusing as she mistakes Santa for a farmer and ornaments as eggs. But the message she learns "? it's all about presents "? isn't the best to send to kids. Stoeke's art is fun in a simplified cartoon style, even if Santa looks like a girl.
