As reported Feb. 18 by the Bureau of Labor Statistics in its most recent Consumer Price Index report, insurance policies for drivers rose slightly between December and January, with a 0.2 percent uptick. That reflects a continuing trend of steady increases throughout 2010; the only dip came between November and December, but by only 0.3 percent, and after the years two largest hikes at that.
Compared to January 2010, last months national average for vehicle insurance was 4.5 percent higher. Gazette staff
