Former Oklahoman turned actress/model/ geek icon Olivia Munn won’t return our Twitter DMs. We assume she’s too busy being a “Daily Show” correspondent and all, so throughout 2011, Chicken-Fried News will attempt to keep tabs with her semi-tabloid life.

First of all, the NBC sitcom “Perfect Couples,” which gives Munn her first starring role in a prime-time series, premieres Thursday. The producers rave, “it’s not a beer commercial.”

Munn stopped by “Late Show with David Letterman” last week to plug the program, where, sitting backstage, she Twittered photos of her cleavaged self eating cookies. Mmm, cookies — er, we mean, mmm, cleavage … And finally, speaking of pics ’n’ parts, her February cover of Maxim magazine is causing controversy. In what we hope will become known as “mound of Venisgate,” FOX411 reports that Dan Gainor, vice president of business and culture at the Media Research Center, doesn’t like the fact that Munn is pictured wearing see-through panties (he’s more of a Men’s Health reader, we guess?) that reveal, as one online gossip site put it, “an entirely airbrushed pubic region that might as well be Barbie’s crotch.”

“It’s disgusting,” Gainor was quoted as saying. “Maxim has moved their magazine from tawdry to full-on pornography.”

He needn’t worry, as America now gets its pornography from the Internet, not print.
