Native American Beaded Portrait Debuts in OKC

Carpe Artem Gallery is pleased to showcase the stunning new beaded portrait "Iron Shell" by Mvskoke Creek and Seminole Artist Joe Hopkins. This contemporary pop art likeness of Sicangu Lakota Chief Iron Shell measures 48" x 72" and is composed of 39,951 beads, each painstakingly placed over a period of 80 hours. This piece and works by 20 artists can be seen at Carpe Artem Gallery. Located on the verge of the Historic Paseo Arts District at 1104 NW 30th St, Carpe Artem is open Tuesday- Saturday from 12-5 PM. Iron Shell will be on display July 1-August 31.
