The Norman indie foursome Yacht Club! will be hosting a CD release party at The Opolis Friday night. With Edmond's The Neopolitans and OKC band The City Lives opening the show up " and turntable tunes provided by Dance Robots, Dance! " the event is sure to provide hours of cool music and dancing.
Despite being relatively new to the city music circuit, Yacht Club! has played with other celebrated locals like Crocodile, The Stock Market Crash and The Neighborhood, and has attracted more than 10,000 visitors to its MySpace page.
NEW ALBUM
Yacht Club!'s new record, "The Third Floor EP," was recorded in a studio set up in one of the band member's houses, and if it turns out anything like the songs released on their Web site, should be danceable and fun with synthesizer leads and snappy drums.
If you are a fan of European pop, you will get a kick out of Yacht Club!, which sounds like the dock party to England's Bloc Party.
