Chicken-Fried News enjoys a cheap laugh as much as anyone. That's why Alan Scherstuhl's recent blog for The Pitch in Kansas City, Mo., caught our attention.
The Out & About blog's headline, "Hooker, Oklahoma, knows its name is hilarious," is pretty self-explanatory.
So are the pictures posted on the blog of the following establishments: the Hooker Chamber of Commerce, the Hooker Health Club, the Hooker Senior Citizens organization, the Hooker Hardware Co., the Hooker Soda Fountain Grill and the best-named newspaper in the state, The Hooker Advance, which CFN hopes specializes in hard news.
A quick search of this Oklahoma town on YouTube yielded a clip of a prairie dog shoot, ghost adventures and "Oklahoma City Workers Caught Consorting with Hookers."
Wait a minute "¦ that last one was a metro-based production from Brian "Video Vigilante" Bates in 2007. Oopsie!
