OKC Improv, Oklahoma's first ongoing showcase for regional improvisational comedy and sketch theater, begins its second five-week run at Ghostlight Theatre Club, 3110 N. Walker, with 8 and 10 p.m. shows on Saturday. The series continues at various times through May 1.

The show features the return of Twinprov and Villains, along with local troupes Everybody and Their Dog, The Ones Your Mother Warned You About and Red Dirt Improv. Tulsa troupe Crayons will make its city debut on April 24, along with Edmond-based, teen-improv group To Be Announced.

Also making its debut is The MiDolls, a comedy company billed as Oklahoma's first and only all-women's improv troupe. Comprised of a handful of experienced metro improvisers, The MiDolls take the stage for a show April 17.

"We looked around one day and we thought, 'There are a lot of all-men's improv troupes who all look the same; why not start up an all-women's one, too?'" said member Sue Ellen Reiman. "We are sick of the troupes of men in suits with bald heads and goatees. Why not spice it up?"

Reiman said the all-female group won't focus merely on women's issues, but aim for comedy bits from feminine points of views. One long-form piece the troupe is working on is set to take place in a women's bathroom, she said.

The OKC Improv All-Stars and the The Ones Your Mother Warned You About kick things off on 8 p.m. Saturday. Everybody and Their Dog and Villain: The Musical follow at 10 p.m.

Tickets are $10 each. Reservations are encouraged and can be made via e-mail at okcimprov@gmail.com or by calling 343-1570. For more information, visit www.okcimprov.com. "?LeighAnne Manwarren
