OKC moves Halloween a day early this year

Kids dressed as superheroes, cartoon characters and more will take to the streets for Halloween a day early this year. The City of Oklahoma City has scheduled its trick-or-treat night for Saturday, Oct. 30.

"Trick or treat is a longtime tradition for area families," said Kristy Yager, public information officer for the city. "It's an important holiday for kids."

The date was changed to be more convenient for families, since Oct. 31 will fall on a Sunday this Halloween.

"Sunday night can be difficult for families, and Saturday night is much more accessible," said Yager.
