OKC theater group performs Whodunit Dining Room

Sit down with your family for dinner, entertainment and work, to solve the mystery of the death that just occurred in the restaurant.

The Whodunit Dining Room is a local theater group that has performed dinner murder mysteries around the Oklahoma City area since 1991, said director Terri Myers.

On Friday, the actors will perform "Win, Lose or DIE!" at Cattlemen's Steakhouse, 1309 S. Agnew, and on Tuesday at Spaghetti Warehouse Italian Grill, 101 E. Sheridan.

"This one's about what happens when a redneck family wins the lottery," Myers said.

DOUBLE-CASTED FEATURE
The interactive show involves the dining audience, which helps find the killers, she said. The double-casted shows feature seven to eight actors per night, many who have been with the company for years.

Each script, written by Earline Cottet, is performed for two months until she writes another one, Myers said.

"We're Oklahoma's big secret," she said. "We absolutely love (our job.) Our audience is really loyal."

The Whodunit Dining Room also performs private events, which are typically in demand during the holiday season.

"It's a perfect opportunity for the family, co-workers, and it's great for a first date," Myers said. "It stimulates conversation."

Audience members work in groups of six to eight in order to solve the mystery. Occasionally, all of the audience gets it right, Myers said.

The "Win, Lose or DIE!" mystery is served at 7 p.m. The dinner performance is $32.50 per person. For more information, call 420-3222.
