Oklahoma City women report panty problems to police

A recent sexual assault has prompted authorities to seek the arrest of a man they said they believe took a fetish too far and stepped over the (panty) line.

Bethany police are looking for a white, 6-foot, 250- to 300-pound man who grabbed and groped a woman March 17 at the Rockwell Arms Apartments, 2504 N. Rockwell, according to a story published in The Oklahoman.

Bethany police chief Neal Troutman said authorities have linked the assault to repeated harassment suffered by two area women in the weeks and months prior.

On March 3, a 44-year-old woman told police she answered a knock at her apartment door and found a pornographic magazine picture and two pairs of panties on her doorstep " one hanging from the doorknob, the other lying on the ground. The same woman reported a Peeping Tom on Feb. 20 and told police a man came up to her in the apartment laundry room in January, requesting she model undies for him, according to the Oke.

On March 6, a 19-year-old woman reported to police she found a note left on her car at the Bryan Hill Apartments, 7202 N.W. 36th. The note announced the woman would be paid $20, should she leave a "pair of soiled panties" by the complex's trash bin, according to the Oke.

Troutman said the incidents likely stem from the same panty pervert.

"We are concerned because we have a sick individual out there who has a fantasy or fetish for panties that has escalated to an assault," Troutman told the paper. - Gazette staff
