Oklahoma Friendly' juried exhibit opens

Last week, the Oklahoma Art Guild celebrated the opening of "Oklahoma Friendly 2008," a juried exhibition of work submitted from recognized artists nationwide. The artwork was selected from 75 artists from 14 states, representing all media, two- and three-dimensional.

The result is located in Oklahoma City's progressive art venue, Istvan Gallery, 1218 N. Western. Art enthusiasts can view the exhibition from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesdays through Sundays, through April 26.

Among the state artists included are:
" Rita Busch, winner of the Jurors' Choice award;
" Lisa Pelletier Crandall and
" Gayle L. Curry.

"I hope I am always evolving as an artist," Curry said, in a press release. "We all need to continue growing into something beyond where we are."

JUDGING
The guest judge was Poteet Victory, an Oklahoma native boasting an extensive background and expertise in expressive oil painting.

"The exhibition is really an excellent combination of art and expression of talent," said Annalisa Campbell, Oklahoma Art Guild spring show chair.
