Republican voters have had the largest net growth of all
political parties in the state since June 1 of this year. Democrats, who
have held the most registered voters for many decades, only do so now
by a small margin.

Also
outpacing Democrats in growth are Independent voters, an interesting
development since registered independents cannot vote in state primary
races.

Democratic
clout in Oklahoma has been close to anemic in recent years, and now
voter registration numbers are finally starting to reflect reality.

Are
Oklahoma Democrats rivaling polar bears in the realm of extinction? We
bet this is one case of endangerment that Republican Sen. Jim Inhofe is
willing to acknowledge.
