Picasso at the Lapin Agile by Steve Martin

Winner of the Outer Critics Circle Award and Best Off-Broadway Play in 1996, this absurdist comedy places Albert Einstein and Pablo Picasso in a Parisian bar in 1904, just before the scientist transformed physics with his theory of relativity and the painter set the art world afire with cubism. Martin plays fast and loose with fact, fame, and fortune as these two geniuses muse and argue. The bar fills up with delightful characters, and the final surprise patron is a charismatic dark-haired visitor in blue suede shoes who time warps in from the 1950s. Steve Martin's humor at its finest!
