Plaza Arts District hosts holiday-themed showcase 

he Plaza, said events like Friday's are part of an effort to "promote the local artists" and to make the public aware of the district's new businesses.

A diverse array of new businesses have opened in the district, Vails said, reflecting the owners' common affection for community and creativity.

Collected Thread sells handmade and vintage clothing, jewelry and Christmas ornaments and will highlight new holiday dresses create by local designer Adrian Owen.

Next-door, DNA Galleries displays artwork by owners Dylan Bradway and Amanda Weathers-Bradway, as well as local artist Emma Robertson.

Dylan's and Amanda's works are deeply inspired by the Plaza's diverse community and surrounding neighborhood, and various cultural influences can be seen in their artwork.

Bad Grannies Bazaar sells just about anything vintage or retro and will host "Santa's Recycled Workshop and ToyLab," which creates toys and gifts from recycled parts.

Throughout the evening, strolling carolers and performances from Lyric Theatre Academy will entertain visitors.
