Putting the ‘eff’ in ‘friendly skies’

According to RH Reality Check, a website dedicated to reproductive and sexual health news, American Airlines recently kicked the Tulsan off a flight because of her T-shirt.

No, it wasn’t one of those Warpaint ones that spurred so many death threats. Instead, it read, “If I wanted the government in my womb, I’d fuck a senator.”

The
website reported that the slogan has become popular ever since Oklahoma
state Sen. Judy Eason McIntyre, D-Tulsa, held a placard with the
colorful saying at a Capitol rally in March to protest the personhood
legislation.

Asked RH
Reality Check editor-in-chief Jodi Jacobson in a May 22 article on the
flight flap, “Yes, in some way this obviously has to do with profanity,
but where does that stop? Is she allowed to walk into Target? Is she
allowed to go to CVS? She was allowed to walk through the airport ... If
we women all over this country are being fucked over, and we can’t say
that, where does that end?”

At least when Southwest Airlines famously
kicked director/actor/whiner Kevin Smith off a flight in 2010, there was
a legitimate excuse. That dude is effing huge.
