Recycle old electronics for free Aug. 21

Used, unwanted, obsolete and damaged household electronic equipment will be recycled for free between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 21, at State Fair Park.

Sponsored by the City of Oklahoma City, Waste Management Recycle America and LG Electronics, the event is free of charge. No proof of residency is necessary.

"LG Electronics is taking a proactive approach to helping consumers responsibly dispose of end-of-life electronics," said Timothy McGrady, environmental manager for LG. "We encourage consumers to take advantage of this opportunity to dispose of unwanted electronics in an environmentally responsible manner. Life's good when it's green."

The event features a minimum of hassle for those recycling, as the eCycling crew will collect all acceptable electronic products from trunks or pickup beds. Products not acceptable for eCycling will be left in vehicles.
