Oliver Twist, the child protagonist in the musical "Oliver!," begins the search to fill his hunger for love and a family 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Rose State College Performing Arts Theatre, 6420 S.E. 15th in Midwest City.

Based on the classic Charles Dickens story, "Oliver!" is the Broadway hit by Lionel Bart that dramatizes loyalty, morality and family. Set to a score of hit songs, the beloved musical is the story of a boy who asked for more.

Set in London, the play opens with orphaned Oliver in the workhouse among other young chaps who dream of food, before breaking into the chorus of "Food, Glorious Food."

OUT OF CONTROL
The tale spins quickly out of control from scene to scene, as Oliver grapples with being sold into servitude, running away and facing the moral dilemma set to music in "Pick a Pocket or Two."

Swept up in a whirlwind of varying ordeals, Oliver isn't the only one that begins "Reviewing the Situation." Crooks and rogues, the highbrows and the lowbrows, and even parish beadle Mr. Bumble begin to assess life anew.

With each scene climaxing to even more scandalous heights, "Oliver!" will keep kids on the edge of their seats, anticipating what will happen next and what Fagin's gang will do.

Tickets are $44.50 to $55. For more information, call 297-2264.
