Santa visits downtown Christmas tree on Saturday

Officially lit the day after Thanksgiving, the downtown Christmas tree stands at the Centennial Fountain Plaza on the Bricktown canal, just across from the AT&T Bricktown Ballpark, 2 S. Mickey Mantle. You can't miss it; thousands of lights adorn its limbs.

Each Saturday this month, the tree plays host to "Santa Saturdays," a new event to this year's Downtown in December festivities, where attendees can enjoy various special entertainment.

SANTA VISIT
According to Kim Searls of Downtown in December in a press release, the events include "face painting, the Mistletones caroling, Santa's Mailbox and, of course, the big man himself, Mr. Santa Claus."

Yes, Virginia, each Saturday night means Santa travels south from his North Pole home to collect all the letters that good and bad Oklahoma City girls and boys have left for him in his tree-side mailbox " no stamps required! Back home, the elves await to construct toys accordingly, so put pen to paper!
