In anticipation of Earth Day, Norman Cultural Connection will host an evening with Dr. Robert Rabin, who will present a lecture titled The Value of Indigenous Science: Iñupiaq Insights on Weather and Climate Change. Dr. Rabin will share stories from his studies at Iḷisaġvik Tribal College in Utqiaġsvik (Barrow), Alaska about human adaptation to extreme changes in climate. A service project focused on caring for our local environment will also be introduced. This lecture is part of Norman Cultural Connection’s Compassion Around the World lecture series and is made possible with support from the Chickasaw Nation.
