Tipsy Tow offers free tows home, Thanksgiving-Dec. 1

To help get you home safely during the upcoming holiday, the American Automobile Association (AAA) offers the Tipsy Tow program free of charge, regardless of membership. Simply call 1-800-AAA-HELP and tell them you need a tipsy tow. AAA will handle the rest, giving you, your vehicle and up to one passenger a safe ride home.

The service is available from 6 p.m. Nov. 26 through 2 a.m. Dec. 2, and is an easy, safe alternative to drinking and driving. It is available in Oklahoma City, Tulsa and several other metro areas including Bartlesville, Enid and Ardmore. There is a 15-mile tow limit and drivers can only take people home, organizers said.

“Thirty-five percent of all fatal crashes in the state involved alcohol or drugs," said Chuck Mai, Oklahoma’s AAA spokesman, in a recent media statement. "These crashes have taken the lives of an average of 241 Oklahomans annually. That’s 20 every month. Tipsy Tow provides an easy, safe option to drinking and driving.”

Tipsy Tow picks up again in mid-December. For more information, visit AAA.com or call 1-800-AAA-HELP and ask for Tipsy Tow.
