When Jonathan Beck Reed plays a role, it stays played. And in Oklahoma City Repertory Theatre's production of "A Tuna Christmas," Reed plays 11 roles, ranging from the moseying old coot Arles Struvie to the indolent miscreant Stanley Bumiller to the beehive-coiffed waitress Helen Bedd, among others.

To say he has "great range" as an actor doesn't quite describe his work in this production. "Multiple personalities" hits closer to the mark.

But the greatest is Struvie, co-host of a program on radio station OKKK. Reed's stooped posture, wizened visage and Texas twang (he turns "itch" into a two-syllable word) are so authentic, it goes beyond performance. Struvie himself seems to be present in the Civic Center's CitySpace theater.

It is a clich
