Well, what’s ‘Tulsa’ backward?

As of press time, user 77Kittycole’s YouTube video “Alyssa talking backwards. Poteau Oklahoma” had notched more than 2.25 million views, thanks to 14-year-old Alyssa Kramer’s awesomely weird ability to instantly speak any word backward.

So either every single one of Poteau’s 8,520 inhabitants has watched the thing 266.2 times, or we’ve got one o’ them honest-to-goodness, Oklahoma-grown Internet sensations on our hands.

“When I learned how to read it, I just did it both ways,” Kramer told Matt Lauer and Ann Curry during her appearance on the “Today” show last week. “Somebody will say a word and my brain will flip it for me — I just read it that way.”

Chicken-Fried News is only mildly desserpmi. After all, we’ve been able to say “Tulsa” backward since sixth grade.
