Wheelin’ and dealin’

Not only are our brick-and-mortars abundant with treasures, but now the lovely creatives of our fair town have taken to the streets.

You didn’t think food trucks would be the only ones having mobile fun, did you? With a forward-looking state of mind, Ashley Sellers isn’t just on a trend — she’s starting one.

Her Bones & Arrows collection gets around in a whimsical, 1962model mobile Scout. It’s silver, adorable and packed to the rims with vintage Pyrex kitchenware, Pendleton (the iconic pattern inspired by Native Americana) clothing items and even some handmade treats. To find out where the shop pops up next, follow it on Twitter, @Bones_n_Arrows.

Bones & Arrows also offers items by other local artists. One featured collection is from The Okay See, a hyperlocal T-shirt company.

The shirts are custom-designed and printed in our great state. Grab one that reads “Boom Shocka Locka” to sport your Thunder pride or get your hands on a university-themed design. Learn about new designs by following @TheOkaySee on Twitter.

In addition, there’s still space on Sellers’ Scout trailer for LoLo Makes Things, accessories by a local artist who crafts her little heart out. From crocheted baby sandals to recycled newsprint storage pouches, Lora Newton (@LoLoMakes) puts a whole new spin on the “made with love” concept.

Myriad Botanical Gardens is rolling right along with the pop-up shop trend. In celebration of the holidays, it’s hosting an event curated by local retail consultant Allison Barta Bailey.

“[Bailey] is wonderful. She has a terrific ability to curate groups of shops that will be both distinct from one another but really harmonious with one another,” said Christine Eddington, Myriad Gardens’ director of marketing and communications. “We want to harness the best of the trends that are sweeping the country and bring them to Oklahoma City.”

From 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday through Monday, enjoy the Gardens’ first round of pop-up holiday shopping. You’ll see some of your favorites like Blue Seven, A Date with Iris & Urbane and Full Circle Bookstore, and get a chance to acquaint yourself with the likes of Sara Kate Studio and Pencil Shavings Trunk Show.

After opening weekend, the popup shops will run 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Nov. 29-Dec. 7, Dec. 11-15 and Dec. 17-24. For more information, call 445-7080.

All’s fair in love and shopping, so walk, run or wheel yourself to the best goods in town. Let’s shop, OKC!
