Passionate people call the a place that puts out some of the best burgers in the Norman area, so take one bite and you will know what the fuss is all about. The eatery is celebrating its 17th anniversary on Friday and the fish on Friday with a good price is great. Try the frozen custard!

If you need something pleasurable to do in your life, get over to the Red Pin. The food and bowling area make it worth the trip into Bricktown. There is a full bar, plus on the restaurant side, you can order sliders and gourmet pizzas that are created with high-end toppings, such as pickled pepperoncini (also called Tuscan peppers) and seasoned Italian sausage.

A recipe from the grandmother of owner Patsy Boyer is the big draw here. The Munchie Cake is its strong suit, created with coconut, pineapple and pecans. The tearoom has been open for more than three years, and its quiche is the dish that most people are crazy about. They also have a first-rate chicken salad. Stop and check out the gift shop inside, too.

Several people swear that they just can’t imagine Oklahoma City without this coffee shop, which just went entirely vegetarian with vegan options, too. This is perhaps one of the best user-friendly coffee places around, where all types of people gather and vegetarians can get its veggie Frito pie, a veggie burger or a breakfast burrito. It is just between 23rd and 36th streets.

Red Rooster Bar & Grill

Hold on! The patio is open, so celebrate spring at the Red Rooster. They made everyone’s day with the recent special of smoked ham, complete with baked beans and potato salad. This place has been doing business since the late ’30s. Enjoy the history along with the Venerable Rooster burger or Pat’s chicken, which is a spicy chicken sandwich.

Red Velvet Bakery

When you are up in Edmond, you won’t want to miss the Red Velvet Bakery. The owner, Tammy Morgan, has been designing and decorating cakes for her loyal customers for years. Patrons not only come by for the handmade bonbons, but for her special meat pies. They come in three variations: Mexican, beef and chicken. Call ahead and get your order in before you stop over.

is located right on the edge of Lake Hefner, and the spectacular place just opened in the last few years. These days Mama Roja, thanks to its good staff, carries an exciting brunch menu, with items such as huevos ranchero, migas, huevos con chorizo and a brunch quesadilla. Be sure to try the swirl margarita, as that is Mama’s signature drink.
