The fair takes place from 6 until 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday, combines visual and performing arts to provide fun for the whole family, said Firehouse spokeswoman Carla Chew.
“It’s our little gift back to the community for all the support that the city of Norman gives us,” Chew said.
Live music will be performed on two stages, and 30 art booths will showcase original pieces, all of which will be available for purchase. Musical performances on the main stage will include the likes of Zach Miller, Aaron Squirrel Band and Bungalouski.
There will also be art demonstrations, and children will have the chance to work with painting and sculpture, the latter being part of Firehouse’s Creative Clay Animal Project.
There will also be food vendors, and attendees are welcome to bring their own blankets or chairs to enjoy the festivities.
The fair is free, with the exception of the vendors. Midsummer Nights’ Fair has drawn as many as 6,000 visitors in past years.
“It’s just a great event for families,” Chew said. “Everybody can get involved and have a good time.”
